yaw_asumadu@hotmail.com could tune your djembe. He lives in London though...so you'd have to drive down and pick-up. BUT he'd do a wicked job!

From Saturday August 21st – Sunday 22nd Sheffield is pleased to announce this exciting European first: a weekend of Guniean drumming, dancing and song with Nansady Keita (maitre djembefola) and Special Guest (dancer)

Both hailing from the same province of Guinea, this workshop will offer a truly awesome Malinke experience in the heart of Sheffield.

On the Saturday night, there will also be a performance with the two teachers supported by ‘Funkama:’ Nansady Keita’s UK based performance group.
Community drumming groups are invited to attend and will be allocated a time to perform.

Workshops will run from 10:00am – 4:30pm on Saturday and Sunday. The drumming and dance workshops will be split into ability groups and there will be an assessment for drummers on the Saturday morning.

A variety of workshops from drumming and dance will run throughout the two days: programme to be announced later.

SPECIAL DEAL: Buy 4 tickets get one free. Community drummers and friends should take advantage of this special offer: 5 people could split the cost of 4 tickets, which would reduce the price by £13 a ticket. Those who book tickets before the 30th June will be discounted at £65, thereafter: £75.

For an extra £5 accommodation will be provided
