Hi folks. I've been playing a year now in Caersws in Powys. We play at Clatter Village hall on a Friday night at 7.pm. All are welcome £3 for hire of drum and tea & biscuits. Drums supplied but please bring your own if you have one!

Drum4Fun Festival 19th to 21st June 2009
Drum4Fun:- The first drum festival to be held in Wiltshire, takes place in West Ashton, Nr Trowbridge from 19th to 21st of June. A celebration of inspirational music with an African theme. Authentic African food is available, with all proceeds going to the Mamma Sarah Orphanage in Kenya. Events include free workshops, open mic stage on Friday and Sunday nights, stalls, display of multicultural dance and an evening performance on Saturday by Lokito Ya Congo, an African band and dancers based in London. Cost for weekend ticket including camping:- Adult £25, 10-15 £10, under 10’s Free. Day tickets for Saturday and Sunday:- £10 per person, under 10’s Free. Issa Sawane is an inspiring teacher from Casamance, Senegal. As a choreographer and performer he has impressed audiences with his dynamic appearances in Senegal and the UK, including, Tribe of Doris, Womad Festival, and African Village Festival.

At this 3-hour workshop, Issa and his musicians will be drawing from their wealth of knowledge of the dances, rhythms and songs from Mandinka traditions of West Africa (dances include Jambadon, Nyarga, Ekonkon, Lenje, Mbara and kumpo) to give us an unforgettable experience of Senegalese culture.

Dancers: Open to all levels
Drummers: You should have some experience with Casamance Drumming as you will be accompanying Issa's professional drummers and providing music for the dancers.

ABC brings the music and dance of West Africa to you with a fantastic programme of workshops and evening entertainment.

Set in the beautiful Cam Valley, this small friendly camp has an indoor hall with a bar, toilets and showers, plus outside camping and marquees.

African Beats Camp - Djembe / West African Music Summer School
This West African drumming festival is scheduled from Tuesday 25th August until Monday 31st August 2009. It will take place in Camerton, nr Bath in Somerset.
We have four days of drumming, singing & dancing workshops with a 'rest day' in the middle (Friday 28th) for cultural activities (such as cooking, drum skinning and chilling out).
Teachers include Seckou Keita, Nansady Keita, Modou Diouf, Landing Mane, Ben Lawrence, Idrissa Camara, Diene Sagna, Vieux Bakayoko, Surahata & Binta Susso, Hans Sutton, Mockolo Sawane, Karim M'Baye, Yaw Asumade, Jamie & Simon from Tanante, Malo Sonko.
There will be live West African performances each evening with late night curfews and licences until 1am on Friday and Saturday.
There is a bar and community hall which will stage the evening performances, and provides all amenities, such as showers, toilets, kitchen etc., and camping is available.
