Hi there! If you're in Bagshot, would Farnham be a reasonable distance for you to travel? I give small group drumcircles. And even some latin percussion to boot if enough people want it.

Jembe & Doundoun classes Brentford Boating Arch under Kew Bridge (arches on North side W4 3NQ) opposite train station; many buses 237, 267, etc; parking in Strand on the Green.
Time: 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Same price: £7.50 + £2.50 drum-hire.

Celebrate the primeval and powerful sounds of African drumming, music & arts in the very heart of tranquil Glen Isla in Angus Scotland.

The finest African musicians come together to teach and perform in the only African music, arts & dance festival in Scotland.



Teachers Booked so far:-

Chartwell Dutiro, Ali Bangoura, Jali Kebba Suso, Mockolu Sawane, Baba Kone, Issa Sawane, Anna Mudeka, Mim.

Drumming

Drum tuition available for Djembe, Dun Dun, Saba, & Tama.

There will be classes from total beginners to advanced drumming. New classes in Solo drumming techniques.



Dance

Traditional dances taught from various parts of Africa e.g. Zimbabwe, Guinea, Gambia, and Senegal.

Classes will be available for all abilities. There will be a mixture of indoor and outdoor dancing.



Song

Singing will be an integral part of the festival, with traditional songs from Africa. All levels will be

welcome.



M’bira

The instrument of the Shona people from Zimbabwe. Taught by the master m’bira player Chartwell Dutiro

Chartwell will take you through notation, and the meanings behind the tunes and songs of the m’bira. From beginners to advanced levels.



Balafon

All levels are welcome to try the Balafon. This is one of the earliest instruments of Africa.

and new to this years village. (Limited classes)



Kora

Jali Kebba Suso will be teaching this wonderful 22 stringed instrument. All levels catered for in limited class sizes.


Health and Vitality

This year we aim to introduce a varied range of therapies to soothe those tired limbs and relax the mind and body.

Some therapies will be complementary as part of the ticket price. Therapies will include Body massage, Indian head massage, Reflexology, Yoga, Tai Chi etc. There will also be a chill-out zone for those who feel like unwinding after a full day’s activity.
